Jon Palmer Acoustic Band - Live @ Hackforth

It’s Live @ Hackforth’s first birthday and what a year it has been with some awesome live music in this intimate ‘pop up’ venue. The acclaimed Jon Palmer Acoustic Band from West Yorkshire are next on the Live @ Hackforth stage on 21st March – they are the latest in an impressive list of talent to visit this village venue – Odi, KC McKanzie, The Dunwells, Wilful Missing, Mambo Jambo, 2 Bob and Lions for a Day. “It’s like a proper gig” commented an amazed guest at a Live @ Hackforth event recently. Jon Palmer is a former winner of the Grolsch UK Songwriter of the Year and a published songwriter with Sony. The Jon Palmer Acoustic Band is a 6 piece folk, roots and rock n roll combo playing lots of Jon's songs and carefully selected covers. Best described as a cross between The Pogues and the Springsteen Seeger Session Band, with a bit of Waterboys and Saw Doctors thrown in for good measure! Ian Schofield of Dales Automation is in charge of the Live @ Hackforth project. With a background in the electrical industry and event support, as you’d expect great sound, stage lighting and even pyrotechnics are the norm and create a full show experience. A real ale and wine bar is always available to quench that thirst. “The last 12 months have been an amazing journey with fantastic people from the guests, artists and the Live@ team” says Ian. “We have some exciting bands booked for the rest of the year and I can’t wait for the next 12 months.” The venue is Hackforth Village Hall, Hackforth Nr Bedale of which Ian is a Trustee and keen to support the local community. So far the project has raised over £1100 for the funds of this village charity.
