Leyburn 1940's weekend
This year the event is in its 10th anniversary and the event will be celebrated in style across the weekend, as Leyburn turns back its clocks to the 1940’s. The 1940’s weekend in Leyburn has been growing each year and this year events manager Hannah Russell has taken over to make it even bigger. The weekend is taking place on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd July 2017, the event is a free event and we welcome everyone to come along to the weekend, although cark parking charges apply at £5.00 per vehicle which includes a 1940’s newspaper. There will be a vintage double decker shuttle bus on the weekend taking you from the car park in to the market town. The 1940’s weekend spreads across the whole of Leyburn and this year activities will include, lessons in war time dancing, 1940’s military vehicle and vintage vehicle displays, performances by local dramatic society groups, vintage singers, 1940’s games, 1940’s photo exhibition, 1940’s re-enactment groups, steam engine display, vintage clothes display and much more. Leyburn 1940’s weekend also works closely with the wensleydale railway who will have lots of activities happening across the weekend! So don’t miss out as Leyburn will be a hive of activity!
